When the owners commissioned Alexiou & Associates Architects to design Lanai House they specified that they wanted a Bahamian Style or Island Style home, but with modern features. Little did they know, at the time, that shortly after the house was completed it would win an architectural award. The owners requested large overhangs, covered verandahs and a maximum number of windows and French doors for indoor/outdoor living and cross ventilation.
